S.Korean Victims of humidifier disinfectant to sue British maker

A group of families of victims who died of lung diseases allegedly after using a humidifier disinfectant has vowed to take legal action against the product's British maker.

The victims' families and activists from Asian Citizen's Center for Environment and Health told a news conference on Wednesday that they are contacting a British law firm to file a lawsuit in Britain, accusing Reckitt Benckiser of dodging responsibility for the deaths.

The announcement came about three weeks after a woman who had used the product since 2001 died of a lung disease last week. The related death toll has reportedly reached over 140 in South Korea.
