3월3일부터 5일까지 3일간 인도 아래에 위치한 섬나라 스리랑카의 수도 콜롬보에서 열린 <아시아직업환경피해자권리네트워크 남아시아 컨퍼런스 Asian Network for the Right of Occupational and Environmental Victims - South Asia Conference> 참가자들이 3월11일 후쿠시마 핵참사 13주기를 앞둔 3월5일 스리랑카 콜롬보의 인도양 바다에서 일본정부와 도쿄전력의 후쿠시마 원전오염수 해양투기에 반대하는 인도양 바다에서의 해상시위를 전개했습니다. 

스리랑카, 몰디브, 인도, 파키스탄, 네팔, 방글라데시 등 남아시아국가들과 미국, 일본, 한국에서 50여명이 참가한 이 회의는 30여년전에 산업보건과 환경보건의 해결을 위해 피해자, 활동가, 전문가 들이 함께 조직해 2년마다 아시아 전체대회를 그리고 남아시아, 동남아시아, 동아시아 등 아시아 권역별로 회의와 연대 그리고 경험을 나누며 산업보건과 환경문제해결을 위한 국제 시민사회 네트워킹입니다. 

3월5일 콜롬보 바닷가에서 열린 '후쿠시마 핵참사 13주기 피해자 추모 및 원전오염수 해양투기 반대 국제해상캠페인'에는 이번 대회에 참가한 스리랑카, 몰디브, 인도, 파키스탄, 네팔, 방글라데시, 미국, 한국 등7개 나라의 참가자 10여명과 스리랑크 현지 어부가 함께 했습니다. 이들은 '지구촌 바다는 모두 하나다, 연결되어 있다. 후쿠시마 원전오염수 해양투기는 지구촌 바다를 위협한다' 등의 의견을 피력하며 '바다는 인류 공동의 미래다', '태평양은 핵쓰레기장이 아니다', '일본정부는 후쿠시마 원전오염수 해양투기를 중단하라' 등의 구호가 영문, 한글, 일본어로 적힌 손펼침막을 들고 인도양 바닷속에서 해상 수중 캠페인을 벌였습니다. 

이들은 기후위기로 몰디브와 같은 섬나라는 물론이고 스리랑크, 인도, 방글라데시 등 남아시아 모든 나라들이 위험해 처한 이때 일본이 후쿠시마 원전오염수를 해양투기해 바다를 인류를 더 큰 위험에 빠뜨리고 있다고 지적하며 일본정부를 규탄했습니다.

Participants of ANROEV (Asian Network for the Right of Occupational and Environmental Victims) - South Asia Conference held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, an island nation located below India, for three days from March 3 to 5, staged a maritime demonstration in the Indian Ocean waters of Colombo, Sri Lanka, against the Japanese government and Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s dumping of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant, on March 5, ahead of the 13th anniversary of the Fukushima nuclear disaster on March 11. 

About 50 people from South Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and the United States, Japan, and Korea participated in the conference, which was organized more than 30 years ago by victims, activists, and experts to solve occupational health and environmental health. It is an international civil society networking for industrial health and environmental problems by sharing meetings, solidarity, and experiences in Asian regions such as South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. 

The International Maritime Campaign to Remembrance of the Victims of the 13th Anniversary of the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster and Against Marine Speculation on Nuclear Pollution Water, which was held on March 5 at Colombo Beach, was joined by some 10 participants from seven countries, including Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, the United States and Korea, and a local fisherman in Sri Lank. They expressed their opinions, saying, "The sea of the global village is one and connected. The dumping of nuclear pollutants threatens the global sea," and staged an underwater campaign underwater in the Indian Ocean with slogans such as "The sea is the common future of mankind," "The Pacific is not a nuclear waste site," and "The Japanese government should stop dumping nuclear pollutants" written in English, Korean and Japanese. 

They condemned the Japanese government, pointing out that Japan is putting the sea at greater risk by dumping Fukushima nuclear pollutants into the ocean at a time when the climate crisis is putting all South Asian countries, including Sri Lank, India and Bangladesh, as well as island countries such as the Maldives.
